My understanding of civil rights are freedoms protected by the constitution plainly described in the opening Preamble leading to the powerful factual elements of the many pages to follow. You can pick or choose which ever item you desire in order to raise a valid example of a persons understanding of the word," Rights ", candy bar, cigarettes, lolly pop, etc, etc. I would greatly suggest using this forum as the best example, because you are free to pick and choose, you have the " Right " to post and ledger your opinion, what if it became a dictorialship where this was taken away because you were told you lost the benefit of doing so? You can put what ever spin you want on the definition of the word" Rights " but in the end speculation will not cut the mustard.

УI donТt think (Johnson) or anyone else wants to see the commissioner of revenue deciding which laws passed by the Tennessee Legislature to enforce and which not to enforce,Ф Farr said. УIf that were the case, they (legislators) could just tell the commissioner Сget me $11 billionТ wherever you think best.ФTennesseeТs Camel Cigarettes tax went from 20 cents per pack to 62 cents per pack effective July 1. All eight states that border Tennessee have lower tax rates, meaning smokers can save up to 45 cents per pack Ч $4.50 for a 10-pack carton Ч by purchasing out of state. The border states with the lowest cigarette taxes are Missouri with 17 cents and Mississippi at 18 cents. The highest is Arkansas with 59 cents.Kentucky and Virginia both tax cigarettes at 30 cents a pack, North Carolina at 35 cents, Georgia at 37 cents and Alabama at 42.5 cents.Under state law, bringing more than two cartons of cigarettes into the state without paying Tennessee taxes is a УClass BФ misdemeanor, carrying punishment of up to six months in jail and/or a $500 fine. Bringing 25 or more cartons is a УClass EФ felony, with minimum penalty of one year in prison and a maximum of six years plus a fine of up to $3,000.In addition, the specific state statute dealing with untaxed cigarettes provides that vehicles used to transport more than two cartons Уare considered contraband and are subject to seizure,Ф says a Department of Revenue statement.Farr said that agents have been instructed to seize any vehicle carrying more than 25 cartons of cigarettes without Tennessee tax stamps. In cases where three to 24 cartons are involved, he said vehicle seizure is Уat the officerТs discretion.Ф

I have just cancelled my subscription to Omni magazine and I feel it is necessary to inform the MIT community of what I think is a giant step backwards in the fight for women's rights. While reading the May 1989 issue of Omni, I came across a pamphlet-type advertisement for camel cigarettes in the center of the magazine. I did not know that the ad was for Camel until I turned the page. The front of the ad showed a picture of a seductive-looking blond with the caption "Bored, lonely, restless? What you need is ..." Upon turning the page, I was faced with Camel's "foolproof" advice on "How to impress someone at the beach" entitled "Smooth Move #334." First on the list was, "Run into the water, grab someone and drag her back to the shore, as if you've saved her from drowning. The more she kicks and screams, the better." | | | |

camel cigarettes meat has been eaten for centuries. It has been recorded by ancient Greek writers as an available dish in ancient Persia at banquets, usually roasted whole. The ancient Roman emperor Heliogabalus enjoyed camel's heel. Camel meat is still eaten in certain regions including Somalia, where it is called Hilib geyl, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Kazakhstan and other arid regions where alternative forms of protein may be limited or where camel meat has had a long cultural history. In the Middle East, camel meat is the rarest and most prized source of past?rma. Not just the meat, but also blood is a consumable item as is the case in northern Kenya, where camel blood is a source of iron, vitamin D, salts and minerals (although Muslims do not drink or consume blood products). According to Jewish tradition, camel meat and milk are taboo. Camels possess only one of the two Kosher criteria; although they chew their cuds, they do not possess split hooves.
